This is a small place, but a beautifully judged one. The trullo holds a cool bedroom and shower room; a separate stone room contains the kitchen and opens completely onto the garden.

There is no television and very little passing traffic. Mornings begin with church bells drifting across the valley, while Locorotondo and its white lanes are a seven-minute drive away.
